They really tried with this. Some of the acting choices, especially for the menoptera are just... really stagey though. But I guess for the most part, that's TV in the sixties.
But I do rather like the leader of the optera. Proper gravelly and as detailed a performance as someone could give, given the material he had.
The Web planet has severely stalled my progress... because it is, frankly, awful. But one of the biggest tragedies is that it has ideas that are fantastic, it just sellotapes them into a boring story with bad direction and acting choices and a cliche'd structure.
It's like all the thought went into the creatures and their societal structures but no real thought was put into the drama,
