Sadly, the recon I watched was a little on the low grade side. However, it's difficult to watch The Crusade unless you realize it's a product of it's time. Some of the characters are very different from what we historically know them to be now, and there's some really quite horrendously archetypal characterization, especially with the "honey and ants" sections. But of course, yet again, back in those days it wouldn't have been considered an issue.
The biggest problem this episode has is that it's missing... Fairly obvious really, but it's very much an action based and visual episode so that really doesn't help things along. When you have a missing episode full of sparkling dialogue it can survive a lack of visuals.
Sadly this isn't one, and as a result it's fairly difficult viewing.
